EXHIBITION OF ITALIAN ARTISTS' CINEMA FROM THE ORIGINS OF FUTURISM TO THE NEW MILLENNIUM Curated by Piero Pala 10-14 December 2008 Nuovo Cinema Aquila, Via L'Aquila 68 Embassy of France, Palazzo Farnese, Piazza Farnese December 10th inaugurates the first edition of Italian Experimental Cinema - an exhibition of Italian artists' cinema from the protohistory of Futurism to the present day which will be held from December 10th to 14th at the Nuovo Cinema Aquila.
This anthological exhibition on the so-called "Artist's Cinema" and more Uruguay Mobile Number List generally on independent cinema includes film screenings, graphic and photographic works and multimedia installations and will be held in the spaces of the Nuovo Cinema Aquila. Italian Experimental Cinema retraces the history of artistic and/or experimental cinema, starting from the origins of cinema, when the potential of the filming and projection device began to be investigated, up to opening the door to contemporaneity.
The over 40 artists and filmmakers involved are called into question here by virtue of their entry into the new digital era through the recycling of film material, the construction of Super-8 pinhole equipment, the use of Super8, 16mm, 35mm cameras, video cameras digital, personal computers, editing, scanning and rendering applications. This infinite series of devices allowed artists to produce images and renew the audiovisual language of a cinema in which the techniques used to make films were not and are not indifferent to their content. The event is organized with the support of the Municipality of Rome - Department of Cultural Policies and Communication and with the patronage and support of the French Embassy in Italy.
